The shooter and everyone in the shooting area should wear safety glasses when a gun is being handled (even if it's unloaded). Remember to remove all pets from the area as rebounding ammo can hit them too.

*If the gun is cocked- the manual safety will not engage. For the safety to engage, the gun must be uncocked. If you cock the gun and then try to engage the safety- you will still be able to pull the trigger...and the gun will shoot the projectile! Never shoot steel BBs at hard objects (including metal targets) or water- as that increases the chance of ricochet.
